The NFL offseason is always filled with rumors and speculation about player movements, and this year is no different. Philadelphia Eagles are ready to create an even stronger roster after their Super Bowl run last season. With Jalen Hurts at QB, the team just needs to put the right pieces around him once again to bolster their championship hopes. One of those names is Ezekiel Elliott, however, recently, the head coach of the franchise shut out all rumors regarding that.

A rumor that has been making the rounds is that Ezekiel Elliott is interested in joining the Philadelphia Eagles. Zeke was just released by the Cowboys this off-season. After multiple pro bowl seasons with Dallas, the RB is now in search of a new home this off-season. Amongst his top choices: The Philadelphia Eagles.

With the Eagles already in full preparation to improve their team this offseason, they have some hard choices to make for the roster.  Eagles HC Nick Sirianni was asked about the team’s interest in adding Elliott to their running back group. A group that already includes Rashaad Penny, Boston Scott, Kenneth Gainwell and Trey Sermon.

We feel really good about the room as it is right now,”  said Sirianni.

It’s not surprising that the Eagles are content with their current group of running backs. They signed Penny early in free agency and re-signed Scott, who has been a reliable backup for the team over the past few seasons. Pairing them with Gainwell and Sermon will give the Eagles a young and promising group of running backs.

What’s next for Ezekiel Elliot?

For Elliott, the Eagles were just one of the free-agent destinations. The 3-time Pro Bowl RB had a down year in 2021 and was affected by injuries last season. With a few down seasons, Elliott will look to make a big return and impact on any team that decides to pick him up.

Despite his recent struggles, Elliott is still one of the best RBs in the league and would be a valuable addition to any team that is looking to bolster its rushing attack. The Bengals are also among the potential destinations for the RB to land this season. It remains to be seen which team Elliott will ultimately choose (or which one chooses him).
