Peyton Manning and his brother Eli Manning featured in their new Monday night show on ESPN in January 2021. However, the brothers did not take it easy on the former Browns’ QB. Baker Mayfield was under heavy fire from Peyton and Eli after his forgettable performance against the Steelers.

While the Super Bowl-winning brothers appreciated the future Hall of Famer Ben Roethlisberger, Mayfield was seeing south. As a result, the Cleveland Browns lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-14. Moreover, to make it worse, the Browns’ QB even left the field after an interception.

Further, Peyton was worshipping Ben and thrashing Mayfield left and right. He said about Ben, “Ben is the best all-time at pumping one way, pumping the other way, then throwing a completion while taking a hit. Ben throws that little slant as well as anybody all-time”. But speaking about the Browns’ QB, Peyton remarks that he is a baby on the field.

If you’re wondering if this was all the banter from the brothers directed towards Mayfield, it is not. Later, after the QB threw 10 consecutive incompletions, Peyton got visibly frustrated while Eli tried to calm the situation. Nothing went Baker’s way that day.

Eli and Peyton Manning critiqued Baker Mayfield’s performance in the Browns vs Steelers game

Baker Mayfield is not new to criticism, but this thrashing from the Super Bowl-winning siblings was on another level. After visibly expressing his disappointment against Mayfield, Peyton made strong comments. He said, “You can’t take that sack on third down…Can we get Nick Chubb in the game?”

While Mayfield played on the back of multiple injuries, it was certainly not his best season. The Browns were playing their first playoff game in 18 years. However, a befitting defeat at the hands of NFL icon and former Steelers’ QB Ben Roethlisberger was inevitable.
