The Los Angeles Chargers and the Jacksonville Jaguars went against each other in a Wild Card Round. During the game, LA linebacker Joey Bosa was hit with a fine of $55,456 for his unprofessional conduct.
Bosa received fines of $29,785 and $13,261, respectively, for his statements in addition to an added $12,500. Although it is not the biggest fine in the history of the NFL, it still is a large amount of money. Therefore, this news angered many fans on Twitter. When Jacksonville was in the middle of their comeback, referees charged the 27-year-old with two unsportsmanlike penalties. The second one came when he threw his helmet on the field. It was in reaction to what he believed was a missed false start. Bosa cleared that his penalties came because of the competitive environment and because of the injuries he suffered in Week 3 against the Jaguars.

That’s actually ridiculous. Not condoning what Bosa did or said, but the NFL is basically enabling the refs to continue being trash. Anyone that says anything about it, gets fined and penalized. Something needs to change, man.

Many fans wrote that referees and league officials should also get charged for instigating players on the field.
Refs should be docked pay for egregious calls or missed calls.

that’s ridiculous. when are the refs gonna get fined for blowing calls or going on ego trips?

But this user thought that Bosa must have said something serious against the referees.
Nah he must’ve said some really naughty words for that money…

How about some accountability by the refs for once?

So the officials can continue to get away and make egregious calls and provoke players, yet the players get fined if they comment on said mistakes?

And the NFL ref who invited and provoked Bosa further gets nothing. Shameful. Another nfl issue, refs are never held publicly accountable like players. Refs want tv time, then hold them to same standards as players

Although the LB took accountability for his actions, he was quick to speak against the officials as well. “I mean, if I say something to them, I get a $40,000 fine. But if they blow a call that ruins an entire team’s season, they get to … They’ll probably be back in the locker room after the game like, ‘Haha, got that a*shole. Oh yeah, got him 15 yards. What a loser. Fifteen yards. What a loser.’ I guarantee you that’s what they’re (expletive) talking back in the back. Whatever. Power trip. I’m sick of those (expletive) people.” he said as per FOX News.
