Engaged For Only A Month, Tom Brady Spoiled Gisele Bündchen With A Stunning Ring That Set The Legendary QB Back By Six Figures

Tom Brady proposed to Gisele Bündchen in January 2009. And he did it in style. The ring he gave her was an impressive cushion-cut 4-carat diamond ring with a platinum band. Baguette-style gems surrounded the diamond on the ring. And a four-pronged cage-held diamond.

Brady, then a New England Patriots player, reportedly shelled out an eye-dropping $145000 for the ring. But it was totally worth it for Brady because she said yes. Bündchen revealed the story behind the proposal in an interview a few years ago. 

“When he proposed to me, he made up this whole story how my apartment was flooding, and I ran over there to try to fix the situation. When I got there, the whole apartment had candles and rose petals everywhere and then he went down on his knees to propose… and here we are,” she said.

The proposal sounds so dreamy, giving the cue to couples who look up to the NFL great. The couple was married for 13 years and had two children together, Benjamin, who is 12 years old, and nine-year-old Vivian. Brady also has a 15-year-old son Jack from his previous relationship with Bridget Moynahan. Bündchen raised the boy, with Brady as her own. In an interview a few years ago, she called Jack her bonus child.

That was how their marriage started. But fast forward 13 years, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen decided to split over differences in priorities in life. Bündchen wanted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star to retire from the NFL and spend more time with the family. Brady announced his retirement from professional football at the end of the 2021 season. But he soon realized that retirement wasn’t for him. Brady announced his decision to return to the field just over a month later.

This decision proved very costly for the QB as Bündchen didn’t approve of it. The supermodel was reportedly not happy with this decision, as she thought Brady was prioritizing his NFL career over his family. In the end, the couple decided to part ways and chart their separate paths in life. Both publicly announced the split through social media statements in late October.

Whatever happened between the couple in the end, but they gave a generation of youngsters some relationship goals in their time together.
