Former NFL QB QB Blake Bortles has revealed he had a LinkedIn account to find new jobs. The 30-year-old said he opened it to look at job offers after his retirement. However, he admitted the absence of work history is why he did not receive any job offers. 

I think my lack of work history might be holding that back,” the former Jaguars star said while appearing for the Pardon My Take Podcast. In his 8-year career with the NFL, Bortles earned $47 million. He played for Jacksonville, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, and Green Bay Packers.

When Blake Bortles played against Rodgers and Brady

The Florida-born player announced his retirement silently. Interestingly, Blake Bortles made it to the Packers team when star QB Aaron Rodgers was affected by Covid. The talented player was apparently trying hands at golf around that time. He later became the playing backup to the four-time MVP. In 2017, he played in the AFC Championship final for the Jaguars. However, Tom Brady led New England Patriots to defeat them and clinch the trophy. Bortles played a significant role in helping Jacksonville reach the finals.

During the podcast, he said he wants to play golf on the Senior Tour. The former QB also set his sights on the 2024 Olympics. In addition to golf, he enjoys the duty of a family man. Bortles said he has two little kids with whom he spent most of his time. You can start the senior tour at 50, so I’ve essentially got 20 years to get ready for that,” he added about golf dreams.

Bortles aims 2024 Olympics

The star retired from the NFL after an impressive career. He covered 17,649 yards, 103 TD passes, and 75 INTs. The 30-year-old holds the Jaguars record for most TD passes in a season, with 35. He also has 59.3 completions.

Bortles has another big dream. He aims to be a part of the US equestrian team for the 2024 Olympics. The former super talent in the NFL has been working towards that dream. His fans would hope he creates a success story in golf and carries the NFL legacy forward.
