The back of the GOAT!
An old video of Tom Brady has resurfaced online, capturing a candid conversation about his career and his coach, Tom Martinez. In the video, a young Brady reflects on the feedback he received regarding his strong arm, which he acknowledges was an accurate assessment. However, he humbly admits that he needed to improve his speed, expressing hope that it would develop over time.
During the same interview, Brady’s beloved coach, Tom Martinez, introduces himself and Brady as they prepare for an NFL roster practice. Martinez praises Brady, describing him as “a big, strong, very durable athlete that has an excellent work ethic, especially in the off-season.” Brady’s entry into the NFL was far from easy, as he has previously shared in interviews. He was a late draft pick who had to surpass a successful starting quarterback to kick start his NFL career.

During his football career, Tom Brady faced stiff competition from a fellow NFL quarterback who also excelled in baseball: Drew Henson. In college, Brady experienced a setback when his first pass was intercepted, and he spent the first two seasons as a backup. In 1998, he vied against highly recruited Drew Henson for the starting position, eventually earning the job with impressive statistics: 2,217 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions in his final year at Michigan.
