Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have regained their winning form. On Sunday, in the first NFL international fixture in Germany, Brady and his teammates held a formidable Seattle Seahawks down to a 21-16 defeat. However, there is still some unpleasant taste about the rocky start to the season.

Former Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians is proud of the comeback this season. However, Arians attributed the major hurdles in the season so far to Tom Brady’s mistakes and blamed the QB for the franchise’s five losses before coming into the game against the LA Rams.

Bruce Arians blamed TB12 and not OC Byron

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Seahawks convincingly on Sunday at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena. Geno Smith and the Seattle offense scored only 16 points from 2 touchdowns. The Bucs defense held Seattle’s explosive rookie running back Kenneth Walker III to an astounding 17 yards in 10 carries.

Former Buccaneers and Arizona Cardinals HC Bruce Arians thinks the stretch of poor form had less to do with offensive co-ordinator Byron Leftwich’s play-calling and more with Brady’s lack of execution. “I don’t think it was fair to Byron. Nobody is going to say that Brady was playing bad, but he was playing bad,” the former NFL Coach of the Year said.

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers lost three back-to-back games before the marquee win against the reigning Super Bowl champions, LA Rams in Week 9. TB12 and his offense were struggling in red zone conversions. Against the Baltimore Ravens, Brady threw for 325 yards. However, he had just 1 touchdown pass in the entire game. The Bucs rushing game also displayed zero effort against Lamar Jackson’s Ravens.

Tom Brady has started finding his receivers

The worst came against the Carolina Panthers. Tampa Bay didn’t manage to score a single touchdown in the 21-3 loss to the Panthers. However, Brady threw for 290 yards in the game but didn’t connect in the end zone even once. Tom Brady may not have been at this best, but he sure didn’t look like the reason the Bucs were suffering.

The main comeback story is the Tampa Bay defense who improved their rush defense considerably before the Rams matchup. Tom Brady made his career’s 69th winning drive to fetch the game winner in the dying minutes. He also recorded his historic 100,000 yards passing stat in the game. The Buccaneers’ current two-game winning streak is chiefly because the wide receivers have been connecting more.

Scotty Miller missed a crucial end zone catch against the Rams. However, the young receiver made some amazing catches in the Seattle Seahawks game and redeemed himself. Chris Godwin and Julio Jones also got a touchdown each against the Seahawks. Even TB12 tried to be a wide receiver on a Leonard Fournette throw. That didn’t quite work out. 5-5 Tampa Bay faces the 3-6 Cleveland Browns next after their bye week.
