Speaking to ESPN’s From The Perch podcast, Patterson stated, “When you get somewhere, Atlanta feels like home, so why not retire here and end my career here? It feels good. It feels like it’s the right place, but at the end of the day, I’ve got to do what’s best for me and my family, you know, and if Atlanta is not that place, then it’s not that place.”

The athlete hasn’t ruled out the possibility of moving further if the falcons did not select him. Patterson also stated that when he initially arrived in Atlanta, he would get connected with the supporters so that when it came time to negotiate a new contract, he would have the support of the fans. Furthermore, everything went just as he had expected.

Cordarrelle also wore cleats with the words emblazoned on the side, demonstrating his genuine devotion towards the franchise.

What is the Athlete’s value?

Cordarrelle ‘Flash’ Patterson is a four-time Pro Bowl selection and All-Pro performer. He had a career record of 1635 rushing yards, 2635 receiving yards, 268 receptions, 14 rush touchdowns, and 15 receiving touchdowns in over 143 games throughout his 9-year career. The athlete is a skilled professional that can play running back, wide receiver, return specialist, and defense occasionally.

Patterson signed a one-year contract worth $3 million with the Atlanta Falcons in April 2021.

Given his phenomenal success with the Falcons, owner Arthur Black can undoubtedly keep him for a few more years in order to resurrect the franchise. The franchise is also interested in re-signing him, but any contract negotiations might escalate the stakes, and the franchise is $7 Million over the salary cap.

There is no doubt that having Cordarrelle on the team would benefit the Falcons significantly. However, the salary cap position is something the organization needs to address.
