After a season that felt like a dream had turned into a nightmare, the Broncos acquired celebrated coach Sean Payton, hoping to restore their fractured unit.

The team gave up a lot to bring Wilson on board. So, it’s no surprise that they’d do anything to restore their squad. As the poorest-performing team in the league, Denver went from bad to worse as the season progressed. But Payton’s arrival may call for some changes around the team.

The new head coach was formally introduced as part of the Denver Broncos. Not one to mince words, Sean Payton emphasized on keeping an open mind on players, discipline and the pursuit of winning. Broncos QB Russell Wilson took to Twitter to welcome his new coach into the fold. He said, “Excited to get to work. Fired Up! Congrats Coach @SeanPayton @Broncos”.

When asked if Wilson’s personal coaching staff would remain alongside his other personnel, Payton did not hesitate to give his thoughts. The new HC said, “I’m not too familiar with that. That’s foreign to me – that’s not going to take place. I’m unfamiliar with it. Our staff will be here, our players will be here and that will be it.” Russell Wilson may be the king of the jungle with his huge contract, but with coach Payton around, he’ll have to leave it all outside the locker room.

Wilson’s welcoming message directed at Payton caught the attention of the NFL world. Fans had a myriad of thoughts on the matter. While some believe that this could morph into a fruitful partnership, others are not too sure. One fan tweeted,
