The NFL is a competitive league. In order to be the best, the teams get the right combination across and ensure that all of the team’s players are in decent form. However, sometimes teams might recruit players that are not worth the money and time later on during the matches. It might come across as shocking and disheartening for the player.

Recently, one of the Chicago Bears‘ backup QB was cut out from his two-year contract, five months into the side. The season didn’t start on a good note for the 28-year-old QB who already proved his mettle playing for the Carolina Panthers earlier. The QB was roped in as a backup to Justin Fields, however; the team has parted ways with the player it seems. Bears have now gone ahead with an undrafted rookie in place of the NFL veteran. The NFL regular season that starts from 7th September would see Bears without the services of this player.

PJ Walker, the star QB has been released by the Chicago Bears. Walker signed a lucrative $4.15 million deal with the side in addition to $2 million in guarantees in March this year. The QB who has represented the Colts and Panthers in his career was apparently struggling in the Bears camp. Walker got the guaranteed $2 million from Chicago but failed to hold onto his number 2 spot for Justin Fields.

Walker underwent an inconsistent summer season with the team. His numbers and stats were underwhelming in training camps and also in the pre-season games. Walker appeared during the fourth quarter of the Bears game against Buffalo Bills on Saturday. His stats read- 6-of-11 while covering 71 yards and failed to make any interceptions. This was the final straw, and Bears management made their decision to move on from Walker.
