Baker Mayfield has delivered an instant impact on the first quarter of the Rams versus Raiders clash on Thursday night. The 27 YO has been on the Rams team for just 48 hours. However, he looked like he has been a regular feature of the Super Bowl XXXIV winners.
In the much-awaited clash that featured the likes of Davante Adams and Derek Carr, most attention went to the new #17 champion player from the University of Oklahoma. The 27 YO justified the hype by delivering in a desirable manner that delighted the NFL fans.

The Rams took home Mayfield on Tuesday. The intention behind that sudden move is to keep extra options behind injured Matthew Stafford for the remaining season. The Panthers released Mayfield, the 2017 Heisman Trophy winner, on Monday. And he joined the new team on Tuesday.

Incidentally, the top star had a sedate beginning in the new season with the Steve Wilks-coached team. And there were talks surrounding whether Mayfield would be available for the Friday game in the new role. However, he answered those questions with a lot of character.
Rams pin great hopes on Mayfield
Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris said he has got a lot of respect for his new teammate. “This guy was a very good football player. Brought Cleveland from pretty much the ashes. This game is sometimes thankless,” Morris noted.
Earlier, there were talks about which team Baker Mayfield may join, whether it be the 49ers or the Ravens. However, he chose neither team and rather chose a team that is struggling at rock bottom in the new season.
Can he change their fortunes? The upcoming weeks will give a clearer picture, for sure.
