One of the greatest defensive tackles in NFL history, Vince Wilfork, is a changed man. The veteran shredded 80 pounds after retirement in the most disciplined way ever. His insane transformation recipe is now taking the rounds of the internet, with fans amazed by his daily routine.
The 41-year-old once weighed 325 pounds during his playing days. He bulldozed the 300 pounds offensive linemen into their own backyard, earning numerous accolades in the NFL. However, he no longer needs to maintain so much weight since he retired in 2017. The veteran claimed it’s not the type of food, but the amount of food consumed that makes the actual difference.

Wilfork’s journey of the ultimate transformation shall definitely become an inspiration for many athletes. While speaking in an interview, the five-time Pro Bowler revealed that drinking gallons and gallons of water with long hours of exposure to the Houston sun helped him in the process.
His son plays in the little league baseball teams. So he accompanied him for the games and eventually experienced weight loss. “My son’s little league baseball teams had practice three, four times a week,” Wilfork said, per The Insider.

“So I would always be in the Houston heat, and I would drink gallons and gallons and gallons of water. That’s how I dropped it off. It just kept dropping.” he added. Well, that is not the only mantra for long-term success. A healthy diet with the involvement of green leafy vegetables and controlled nutrition aided the process.

“I would be getting home at eight o’clock at night, and I’d eat a salad or something smaller, and I’m going to bed,” Wilfork mentioned in the interview. Even his former coach Bill Belichick got surprised looking at the former NFL star.
He caught up with Belichick for a gym session. At first, the coach couldn’t believe his eyes and started praising the veteran with an offer to return to New England. He asked him to return and play for the team again, but he gently refused the proposal.

The two-time Super Bowl Champion played for 13 seasons in the NFL. Back in the day, the Patriots had a special custom meal plan for Wilfork and watched him out regularly because his family had a history of diabetes.
