Former Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner Has His Say on Retirement Plans of Larry Fitzgerald

Larry Fitzgerald is an undisputed future Hall of Famer. With 17,492 receiving yards to his name, the 37-year-old wideout is second only to the legendary Jerry Rice in the all-time receiving chart.
Fitzgerald has been an Arizona Cardinals player ever since being drafted in 2004. The wide receiver guided his side to their only ever Super Bowl appearance back in 2009 only to fall short at the final hurdle.

Now in the twilight years of his career, Larry Fitzgerald is without a team. A free agent, the Arizona Cardinals are yet to make a move to sing him back on a new contract.
This has prompted many to ask the question as to whether or not Fitzgerald will ever return to play football. His former teammate Kurt Warner recently provided an insight as to what might be going on.
Larry Fitzgerald could be back for one last season
Appearing on the Rich Eisen Show, NFL Hall of Famer Kurt Warner weighed in with his thoughts regarding the possibility of Larry Fitzgerald hanging up his boots.
“I really thought this was going to be it for him. But I think the longer this thing plays out, the more I think to myself that he might come back,” said Warner.

Warner played alongside Fitzgerald during his stint at Arizona between 2005-09. The quarterback was part of the Cardinals side that made it to the Super Bowl.

Warner did win two Super Bowl during his time with the Rams organization, but the same can’t be said for Fitzgerald. A Super Bowl ring is something that the wide receiver chases. And perhaps it’s that hunger for the ring that’s keeping him away from calling it a day.
“We haven’t heard anything at this point with training camp a month away. And to me, it just kind of lends itself to him coming back.”
