Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant expressed some staunch views about Kanye West and important issues that have been highlighted in the last few weeks.

Addressing issues like freedom of speech, the wide receiver tweeted, “It seems that freedom of speech only applies whenever the right person is saying it.”

Bryant’s tweet went viral online, as fans speculated Bryant’s reason behind these tweets. Since the Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) controversy has been circulating the internet for a while, one fan assumed it was regarding Kanye and suggested the same. Bryant replied that assumptions are a part of the problem.

Bryant was in the spotlight for a while when he addressed Kanye West’s antisemitic comments. Bryant believes that Kanye is not antisemitic.

Some fans went ahead and accused Bryant of antisemitism as well.

A pot-stirring allegiance

Because of Kanye’s controversial statements, athletes like Jaylen Brown and Aaron Donald have dissociated with West’s Donda Sports. Kanye is no newcomer to controversy. This time is also joined by the NFL’s resident pot stirrer Antonio Brown. The free agent openly supported Kanye and his actions.

Brown released a statement saying that he will remain president of Donda Sports. Brown took up the role of president after his release from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers yearly this year.

The former Cowboys wide receiver and the former Bucs receiver have been faithful in their support of Kanye West. Following his antisemitic remarks, the rapper, producer, and fashion designer was dropped by many of his collaborators. This includes companies like Balenciaga, Gap, and Adidas. Ye’s talent agency CAA has cut ties with him as well.
