Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Robert Griffin III recently opened up about where former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski ranks among the top NFL players in the position. The recent comments from Griffin come following Gronk’s retirement announcement by his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. The former Ravens QB believes that the fans will surely miss watching his dominance on the football field in 2022.

During his segment on NFL Live, Griffin was expanding on Gronk and his abilities, stating, “Just the fun he brought to the game. I will go one step further. He was so much fun for the fans. They fell in love with him… I know there are a lot of fans out there that are sad. They are not gonna be able to see any more Gronk spikes. Me, as a QB, never had Gronk. But this guy could stretch the field, and he could do everything you can ask a TE to do, make contested catches.”
Griffin further adds, “I can also tell you how many times Tom Brady threw a pass to Gronk and had no chance to catch it, and somehow Gronk found a way to make that play. That type of player is priceless, and he can block his tail off as a TE. I do think he is the greatest TE ever…” It was high praise for the 4-time Super Bowl champion, who leaves the game with many memorable moments over the years.
Rob Gronkowski formed the dynamic duo partnership with Tom Brady
Among the more significant responders to Gronk’s retirement announcement posts was his best friend and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, QB Tom Brady. The pair have been playing since Gronk entered the league in 2010. The legendary QB was able to extract the best potential from Gronk during his tenure in New England and Tampa Bay.

While the 15-time Pro Bowler and 5-time Pro Bowler took their time developing chemistry, they were lethal for any defensive scheme. The pair was able to achieve team and personal success as teammates for almost 11 years.
But it seems Gronk’s retirement will be heartbreaking for some NFL fans hoping to see them take the field one more time.

As the new season inches ever closer, the Buccaneers will have to find a concrete solution for the TE position following his departure. While Gronk will be keeping the light on for a return, Brady will aim to focus on another intriguing season in 2022.
