Dak Prescott is ready to go next season. After sitting on the sidelines with a major injury last year, Prescott is back in Dallas with a new contract.

The Cowboys are happy to keep Prescott in their ranks for the coming future, especially because they saw a glimpse of what it would be like without him.

The Cowboys started the season strong. However, the injury to Prescott derailed all their momentum, and the Cowboys struggled greatly last season.

With Prescott back, that won’t happen again this season, at least according to one former player. In fact, he believes Prescott will win MVP this season.

Former NFL player Domonique Foxworth spoke on ESPN about his favorites for the NFL MVP. He believes that the Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott will take home the accolade with him this year.

He noted how the MVP award is very much focused on the narrative. And currently, the narrative supports the fact that Prescott was the most valuable player for the Dallas Cowboys last year.

“Rayne Dakota Prescott. This is my argument for Dak Prescott. This MVP is a narrative award. We saw how valuable Dak Prescott was to that team last year when he was balling before his injury.

“Not that the team was all that great, but they were obviously missing him quite a bit. He’s going to come back this year.”

Dak Prescott- Next MVP?

Foxworth added if the Cowboys are able to secure a playoff spot, and win the NFC East, then Prescott’s chances to win the MVP will improve greatly. The narrative around him will grow even stronger with a good season with the Cowboys.

Foxworth noted that while players like Patrick Mahomes may have the best season with the best teams, that isn’t what the MVP is about, and it should go to Prescott if the Cowboys have a good year.

“If they can find a way to get into the Playoffs, and win that division, I think there is a good narrative and story around how valuable Dak is to that team.

“Obviously, Patrick Mahomes is pretty awesome, he is going to score a lot of touchdowns and the Chiefs might be the best team. But that is no fun to talk about! Give Reyne a trophy.”

Can Dak Prescott be the MVP next season? If he and the Dallas Cowboys get to a strong start and can sustain their momentum, then there is very little standing in his way.

However, consistency has been an issue for the Dallas Cowboys. So they will have to avoid making any mistakes as they dive head first into the next season.
