NFC East old boys, Dallas Cowboys, started their 2020 NFL campaign with big hopes in 2020. However, the Jerry Jones-owned franchise concluded third in their division above arch-rivals, Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Mike McCarthy failed to lead the Cowboys to the NFL Playoffs in his debut season in Texas.

Of course, a major reason behind their dismal display was the absence of star quarterback Dak Prescott. The 2016 first-round pick suffered a season-ending double compound ankle fracture in Week 5 of the season against the New York Giants.

Veteran Andy Dalton stepped in for the latter half of the season but even he was ruled out after two games with a nasty concussion. At the end, the Cowboys missed out on the playoffs as they finished with a 6-10 record.

Despite their misfortune in 2020, former Atlanta Falcons wideout Brandon Marshall is optimistic about the Dallas Cowboys. Speaking on the I AM ATHLETE podcast, Marshall revealed that Dak Prescott and Co. can now challenge for the Super Bowl over the course of the upcoming months.

“The last two months. I’ve shifted. I think they’re a true contender,” Marshall said on the podcast.

Franchise quarterback Dak Prescott signed an expensive and lengthy contract extension earlier this year. Although his injury rehabilitation is going as per schedule, it is unlikely that he will start in the Week 1 opener against reigning champions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“Dak Prescott healthy. Defense, middle of the road — Super Bowl!” Marshall added.

Experienced stars – Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and DeMarcus Lawrence – will also play a key role. The addition of promising Penn State linebacker, Micah Parsons, is also a major bonus for America’s team.

The young starlet is being tipped for a breakout season in 2021. Let’s hope coach McCarthy stamps his authority on this team as they bid to make it back to the playoffs.
