Former Jets TE Chris Herndon is not having a good time this year. After competing in the NFL and making a few snaps and scores, the tight end is currently a free agent. But he still made it into the headlines after some unfortunate news. The athlete is facing a suspension, which would keep him off the game for the rest of the regular football season.

This year’s football season saw a couple of suspensions. Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins were some prominent names who fell into the unfortunate zone. TE Chris Herndon also fell prey to that. It shuns his hopes to return to the field and make some plays this season.

As per Field Yates, “Former Jets and Vikings TE Chris Herndon – who is currently a free agent – has been suspended for the 8 remaining weeks of the 2022 NFL regular season.

The move made by the NFL comes out of nowhere. Additionally, the league did not give a reason for the suspension. The TE’s layoff is temporary, which allows him to play the ball from the next season in 2023. But it could negatively influence his value.

However, it is not the first time Chris Herndon is facing a suspension. In 2019, the NFL suspended the ex-Jets TE for the initial four regular-season games for breaching the league’s substance abuse policy and protocol. He also admitted guilt to DWI after colliding with a vehicle of a 76-year-old person in June 2018.
