Have we ever seen an NFL player lose his football cleats and wear dancing shoes instead? Oh yes! Anthony Harris recently accompanied a tween girl from Austin to a father-daughter dance. The Philadelphia Eagles’ strong safety Anthony Harris took an eleven-year-old girl, Audrey Soape, to a local church’s father-daughter dancing.

The Soape family has long been a fan of Anthony Harris when he represented the Minnesota Vikings. Occasionally, the family would reach out to Harris via social media to ask if he needed their prayers. However, Audrey tragically lost both her father and grandfather last year.

Audrey’s mother, Holly Soape, reached out to Harris to ask him to take Audrey to the daddy-daughter dancing, and Harris agreed. In addition, before taking Audrey to the dance, Harris bought Audrey a dress and shoes and paid for her hair and make-up.

“Just trying to be a human, tryna take off the helmet, tryna take off the cape of what I do professionally and just show some sympathy for that family……. The people that you care about and the people you love, show support for them,” said Harris to NBC 10 Philadelphia.

The local church daddy-daughter dance was on the horizon, so Audrey wanted her mom Holly, to accompany her. Instead, Holly had an entirely different plan. She reached out to the former Viking, and he happily agreed.
