Payton cleared Russell Wilson of any wrongdoing and specifically flamed the coaches, the GM, and others involved. Hackett, who was fired from the Broncos, is now reunited with his old pal, Rodgers, from their tenure in Green Bay, who also became a victim of Payton’s comments.

Following the HC’s comment, the 4x MVP appeared in an interview after his recent training camp, where he ruthlessly fought back, stating, “I think it was way out of line, inappropriate, and I think he needs to keep my coaches’ name out of his mouth.” Rodgers also expressed how he felt bad about the whole thing as an accomplished coach like Payton would pull such a stunt. He even labeled him “insecure”.
