Last year the 49ers had their dreams shattered for the second time as they fell short in the NFC championship. It’s worth noting that the team had a formidable leader, Jimmy Garoppolo, who even earned a passer rating of 103. However, now that QB is gone off to the Raiders, leaving the team with a roster full of fresh faces. But they have now met with certain hiccups.

The Red and Gold are set to kick off their season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Yet, both sides of the ball are dealing with a slew of ‘questionable’ players, raising concerns among the Faithful.

San Francisco 49ers release official injury report!

The 49ers’ week 1 opponent, the Steelers have dominated the preseason with a neat 3-0 win streak. They even ruthlessly defeated one of their strongest divisional opponents, the Bills, with a whopping 12-point gap. With an incredible performance from the defense, the team has become a favorite pick among experts, and the predictions aren’t looking any good for the Niners. And it gets even worse!

Last Friday, the team unveiled their official injury report, revealing star TE George Kittle and CB Charvarius Ward as questionable. Even though Kittle has displayed signs of improvement this week but has been limited in practice, raising serious eyebrows. His lingering groin issue has plagued him throughout training camp, and even Coach Kyle Shanahan expressed apprehension, acknowledging that Kittle’s absence would undoubtedly impact the team. According to CBS Sports, Kittle, who is tagged as Injured Reserve (IR), is expected to return in Week 5.

In the event Kittle can’t play in the upcoming bout, backups Charlie Woerner, Ross Dwelley, and Brayden Willis are prepared to step in. On the other hand, Charvarius Ward is suffering from a knee injury and remains questionable for Week 1 at Pittsburgh. Nevertheless, there are additional injury updates emanating from the 49ers’ camp.

The 49ers’ star WR is back!

The Gold Rush received a glimmer of hope ahead of the season opener as their formidable wide receiver, Ray-Ray McCloud, has been given the green light to return to the field. McCloud underwent surgery last month for a fractured left wrist sustained during a joint practice with the Raiders.

In addition, rookie placekicker Jake Moody has also been cleared to play, having recovered from a quadriceps injury. He is set to step in for Robbie Gould, the most accurate kicker in franchise history.

Despite these positive developments, the Niners’ prospects for the season opener appear doubtful. Nonetheless, history has witnessed remarkable comebacks from seemingly weaker teams in the NFL.
