4X Grammy Award Winner Ed Sheeran Has a Major Proviso to Ever Perform at Super Bowl

With Michael Jackson, Enrique Iglesias, Aerosmith and even featuring performers from the US Olympic Hockey Team, the NFL Halftime Show brings joy to the audience. Recently, a 4X Grammy Award winner and a popular singer voiced his opinions on performing at the mega star-studded event and shared his concerns regarding the same.

Ed Sheeran gives an honest opinion on leading NFL Halftime Shows

The English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is one of the greatest artists of the 2010s. The performer whose hits include “Shape of You”, “Perfect”, “Photograph” and several others has enchanted audiences with his vocals and singing caliber. However, when asked whether he’d headline the halftime show, the Englishman has an interesting take on the same. He said “I don’t have pizazz. Like, all of these amazing performers — I’m just not that. I’m not gonna have dancers on stage. I’m not gonna have fireworks and blah blah,  don’t think that anyone wants to see me do the Super Bowl either.” 

The artist who’s sold more than 150 million records opines that he’s ready to collaborate for Halftime Show. Sheeran dismissed performing solo and was ready to strum his guitar if a leading band was joining him.

Speaking to Andy Cohen, Ed elaborated on the same “There was a conversation a while ago, I think it was with Coldplay when I did it- of me going on to play “Thinking out Loud” ….”. With the collaborated acts, there’s one such ensemble performance that brought joy to the 1990s and early 2000s hip-hop lovers.

When the OG hip-hop artists graced the Halftime Show

On February 13, 2022, hip-hop finally arrived with a grand performance. The performance is still fresh in every fan’s head and will stay with them for a long time! As a celebration of the West Coast’s golden rap history, the hip-hop artists joined forces. The show was headlined by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J Blige, 50 Cent, and Kendrick Lamar and was duly supported by Anderson Paak on drums!

The fun began with Dr. Dre playing the piano and Snoop Dogg joining him for “The Next Episode” and “California Love” songs. It was followed by an ever-youthful 50 Cent recreating his starting sequence from “In Da Club”. The enthralling song made way for Mary J. Blige’s “Family Affair” and “No More Drama”. It was her first performance after 20 years! The new generation Kendrick Lamar performed “Alright” and made way for the artist of the night- Eminem! The rapper took a knee at the end of “Lose Yourself” with Dr.Dre playing Tupac’s “I Ain’t Mad at Cha”.
