The “GOAT” debate in the NFL is a longstanding thing. Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are the prime contenders. Much like Ronaldo versus Messi and Federer versus Nadal, this debate seems to have no end. But NBA icon Michael Jordan once stirred the football realm after recalling the similarities between both quarterbacks in a commercial.

The moment erupted when Michael Jordan appeared in a commercial during a Saints-Vikings game in 2018. His Airness talked about the NFL’s GOAT debate and talked about Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. Since the Patriots and the Packers had an upcoming game, NBC Sports brought in M.J. to spice up the game.

Michael Jordan flashed the NFL’s greatest of all-time debate

The Black Jesus brought up some peculiar similarities between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. The GOAT debate is based on titles, talent, and the most clutch moments. Jordan mentioned, “I get it. It’s a tough call. I mean, even the jersey numbers are the same. But maybe the best way to settle this debate is to play it out head-to-head.”

It became more interesting when he brought up the GOAT debate. He was referring to him and LeBron James when he compared A-Rod and TB12. Both athletes had the same jersey numbers and had intense competition when Jordan had an active career.

It is not the first time Michael Jordan has appeared in an NBC commercial. Ahead of Tom Brady’s 23rd regular-season start, His Airness appeared in a promotional video for the Bucs-Cowboys game. He said he had been waiting for two years, but TB12 did not wait two months to return.

Just like Jordan kept the Brady-Rodgers GOAT debate going, the QBs also spoke about who is the best NBA athlete.

But when they were asked if they rooted for Michael Jordan or LeBron James, both quarterbacks had a diplomatic answer. Rodgers mentioned how he grew up watching Jordan, but he is also a LeBron James fan. TB12 did not choose to answer the question at first, calling it a hypothetical one. But, in the end, he chose to keep both.

Despite all the discussion, the GOAT debate remains an unsettled one.
