Trey Lance will be under a lot of pressure

By becoming the starting quarterback, the pressure will be very high on Trey Lance. His job is to take the 49ers farther than Jimmy Garoppolo was able to take them. Jimmy G has often been criticized for his gameplay.

Despite that, there is no denying that Garoppolo is a winning quarterback. He is not among the best quarterbacks in the league’s history, but he is still able to get the job done. Last year, he knocked out the likes of Dak Prescott and Aaron Rodgers. Moreover, the 49ers could have easily defeated the Los Angeles Rams, but it wasn’t their day.

Jimmy G even took the 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2020. Although, he wasn’t able to get the job done against the Kansas City Chiefs. As a result, the criteria for Trey Lance to be a successful quarterback for the 49ers will be to win a Super Bowl. People around the league are excited to see him play in the upcoming season. The 49ers took a huge gamble in drafting him. If it doesn’t pay off, it will set their franchise back for the coming years.
