The quarterback conundrum of the Raiders
The current quarterback of the Raiders had met with an unfortunate injury in week 13 of the 2022 NFL season. He was then playing for the San Francisco 49ers. After his injury, his contract with the Raiders was restructured. The new contract pushes his signing bonus to his base salary for the 2023 season. Also Surprise, Surprise, his contract includes a waiver over a foot injury. So basically, the Raiders could completely cut him off the team without paying a single dime if his foot does not recover before the season starts. It is not looking good for Jimmy as it was also revealed recently that he had failed his physical with the Raiders back in March.

Jimmy’s leg injury could cost him not only this season but also his giant compensation. If his injury persists, we might see him back in the 49ers again. The Raiders will have a huge vacancy for the center and they will probably look elsewhere.

Will Brady replace Jimmy Garoppolo?
For the past few months, Brady has been relentless in the pursuit of acquiring a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. Brady has finally managed to convince Mark Davis, the majority owner of the Raiders, to let him be a part of the team. He is yet to finalize the deal, but the team has met with a quarterback dilemma, so it was on everyone’s mind if Brady was to make a comeback and fill his newly owned team’s vacancy.

Even if that were to happen, it would be possible by a long shot. Brady still needs 24 out of 32 owners’ to stamp signed the approval to become an owner himself and then if he were to become the QB of the team, he would need to be approved by 24 members again. Also, the owners could sign Brady as an owner and a retired player, and then again, he wouldn’t be able to play for the team. Furthermore, if Jimmy G recovers before the season and passes his physical, the Raiders don’t need to go an extreme route to fill their center vacancy.
