Giants’ First Round Pick Kayvon Thibodeaux Answers Age Old Question Whether Rookies Make Good Leaders

New athletes fulfilled their dreams of becoming the next big thing throughout the NFL at the 2022 Draft. While the clubs fill their roster voids, it also brings up a decades-old debate about fresh athletes leading on the line of work. OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux got the same question and gave a very thoughtful answer to it.

The New York Giants have made a big splash in the draft this year. After bringing Kayvon Thibodeaux from the University of Oregon, the OLB role could be transformed. The defensive ace could be in his direction to filling some big shoes for the team. GM Joe Schoen fills in some major leftovers in the draft having 9 picks in the three-day event.

Outside Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux makes his first appearance as a Giant in the rookie minicamp press brief. A reporter asks him the question of rookies taking over leading positions, saying ‘Kayvon, can you lead as a rookie?’.

Thibodeuax replies, “I feel like you can lead not just in football, but in any position of life. It’s about doing the right thing and doing it, you know, at all times. SO, for me, as long as I’m leading myself down the right path, people are gonna fall. You know, as I’m gonna go the right way, there’s gonna be easy to have people with me. So, I’m not saying that I’m going to step in and be a vocal leader, but I’ll make sure I do everything the right way. So that when the people see me, they know I’m the last one leaving and the first one entering.”

Kayvon Thibodeaux, a first-round pick in the draft of the New York Giants, entered the NFL as among the most streamlined young guns in the 2022 draft. Moreover, the franchise’s reliance on defender players in history keeps going.

Is Kayvon Thibodeaux NYG’s next big thing?

The Giants have still not discovered the next Michael Strahan. Although, they might have found a player quite close to the Hall of Famer in the former Oregon Ducks’ All-American. Thibodeaux’s chance to dominate on field is far superior to any other performer in the Draft when healthy.

Kayvon Thibodeaux isn’t a dynamic mover, and his influence fluctuates, but he comprehends how to use his size, versatility, and areas of competence to create power and influence as a pass rusher. If he stays completely dedicated, he could very well enhance into a high-end starting player.
