Super Bowl LVII has a lot of significance in NFL history. Only a few hours are left for the ultimate game to begin, and the two gunslingers Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts are gearing up to showcase their best-ever performance in Arizona. Ahead of the match-up, the Chiefs quarterback was spotted having a busy chat with his counterpart during the opening ceremony of the Super Bowl, something that the fans found interesting.

The Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix recently hosted Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts for the opening ceremony meet-up. Players from both sides viewed their experience and expectations. Not to mention, Hurts and Mahomes received the most applause and cheers. One of the highlighting moments from the session was the duo engaging in a serious discussion.

It took no time for this snippet to spread like a wildfire on social media. While the MVP candidate Mahomes kept talking, Hurts remained stiff and nodded to his counterpart’s views.

 

Incidentally, Mahomes and Hurts are the first Black quarterbacks to go head-to-head in the Super Bowl. Both exhibited phenomenal skills justifying their roles as emerging talents in the league.

Hurts rose to prominence this season after displaying a flawless undefeated streak. On the other hand, Mahomes pulled out the impossible, winning games from difficult situations. All his playoff matchups happened to be a roller coaster ride. However, in the end, it was the KC squad, who came out victorious.

Apart from winning the game and bagging his maiden title, Jalen Hurts emphasized scripting history and digesting the magnitude of this feat. “It can be done. The game has evolved. Times are changing,” Hurts said, per USA Today.

“Obviously being part of something so historic and making history. You talk about breaking records and being the first to do this, but I think this is something on a whole different level. A whole different magnitude holds a different type of weight.” he added. Similarly, Mahomes was asked about his health and the condition of his sprained ankle.

The quarterback looked energetic and revealed that his ankle felt great. Being 1-1 in his Super Bowl appearances, Mahomes mentioned that he understands both sides of the game.
