Things didn’t exactly pan out the way Davante Adams visualized, after his move from the Green Bay Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders last season. And with old friend Derek Carr gone, the wide receiver now has to shack up with Jimmy Garoppolo. And Davante reacted to this on his Instagram story extremely confusingly.

The Raiders agreed to terms with Jimmy G to put him as their starting quarterback on a three-year $72 million deal. And Garoppolo can’t be too upset, given his chances in the 49ers weren’t looking good. And this also gives him a chance to reunite with Josh McDaniels.

After leaving Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, Davante Adams hoped for postseason glory with Fresno State teammate and friend Derek Carr. However, the NFL world can’t forget the entire benching episode and Carr’s subsequent transfer to the New Orleans Saints. Adams still had some hope, with the Raiders also being in contention for A-Rod at the time. However, the Jets took priority, and Sin City welcomed the former San Francisco 49er.

Adams didn’t clarify his story until hours later. And initially, fans thought he wasn’t a big fan of the Jimmy Garoppolo deal. “If we haven’t talked in three weeks, don’t hit me about this s—. Thanks,” the 6x Pro Bowler wideout wrote on a now-deleted Instagram story.

Fans assumed Davante will want out. However, his $140 million five-year extension last year keeps him in Las Vegas till 2026. Some fans also said that this outburst seemed more about Carr’s release and New Orleans acquiring him than Jimmy Garoppolo.

Davante cleared the cryptic confusion later

Garoppolo can take a breather. His numero uno wide receiver does not hate him. The three-time All-Pro later tweeted to clarify that his previous tweet had nothing to do with football or his quarterbacks.

Don’t make too much of it. Phone dry, then here comes everybody tryna get the inside scoop. S— is annoying that’s it. Jimmy, let’s get this,” Adams tweeted. Davante recorded the highest number of touchdowns in the regular season last year (14) along with his 1536 receiving yards for the Raiders. And he is ready to roll with Garoppolo, not wanting the quarterback problems to come in the way of his legacy.
