

On the latest episode of the Pat McAfee Show, Aaron Rodgers talked about the conversations between him and Odell Beckham jr about a possible move to the Packers. It was one of the hottest rumors in the NFL this season. Everybody was talking about the potential Green Bay Packers move. But ultimately, OBJ chose to sign with the LA Rams.

When Beckham decided to join the Rams, he said it felt right, but the fans didn’t feel the same. The fans and critics believed that Odell joined the sunny side of LA for money and fame. They feel betrayed that he did not sign with the Packers. Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers quarterback, said, “We’ve been friends for a long time, kept in touch and met at some events and just, you know, sent encouraging messages. During the seasons, over the years.”
He adds, “When he became free, there was definitely conversations, and I had the conversations with him directly.” It seems Beckham wanted to join the Packers as well, as Rodgers revealed on the show.
Rodgers also revealed that there were talks between OBJ and the Green Bay Packers directly. “There were conversations with the organization as well. And I appreciated the fact that we were in the mix. It just comes down to fit, ultimately.” Aaron Rodgers believes that Odell Beckham Jr didn’t join the Green Bay Packers because Los Angeles Rams were the better fit for him. “what the best fit is for him. And we had some real good honest conversations, and I’m excited for him.”

OBJ’s debut for the LA Rams did not go as planned. They lost the game against the San Francisco 49ers with significant numbers. Beckham didn’t have the greatest impact on the match. He barely even played the fourth quarter. Even though this was his first outing with the Rams, fans believe they should not judge OBJ on just one performance.

Aaron Rodgers also agrees with the fans. “I wouldn’t judge one performance, you know. He obviously had some plays that he felt good about.” Rodgers says, “I would definitely reserve judgment on writing off OBJ. I think he has a lot of really productive years left in his career.”
Aaron Rodgers says on @PatMcAfeeShow that he had some honest conversations with Odell Beckham Jr about joining Green Bay, but he ultimately picked LA. The front office kept Rodgers in the loop and he appreciated that.

Aaron Rodgers wishes well for Odell Beckham Jr and believes that he is still a top-tier player with a lot left in the tank. Maybe we’ll someday see OBJ catching passes from Rodgers or watch them go head to head against each other. For now, OBJ still needs time to adjust and learn the LA way.
