Aaron Rodgers Set To Be Penalized by the NFL; May Face Suspension

A few days ago, news broke out that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has tested positive for COVID-19. The NFL community was devastated hearing this news as Green Bay Packers. But the narrative took a complete 360 the next day. The next day, NFL announced that Aaron Rodgers won’t be able to take part against the KC Chiefs owing to him being unvaccinated.

While being unvaccinated is understandable, what irked people more was that Rodgers some time ago claimed the opposite. Owing to this, Rodgers and has been subjected to widespread backlash from everyone. It looks like the misery is only going to double for the quarterback. The NFL earlier today announced a probe into Rodgers’ vaccination claims and it looks like the player may get penalized for his mask less appearances.

A couple of days ago, NFL Insider and reliable journalist Tom Pelissero broke the news that Aaron Rodgers had tested positive for COVID-19. This means that the Green Bay quarterback won’t be able to lead his team against the upcoming decisive clash against Patrick Mahomes‘ Kansas City Chiefs.

After the unfortunate news, the NFL world expressed their sympathies towards the quarterback. But the narrative changed suddenly when NFL a day later reported that the quarterback was in fact unvaccinated. This enraged the fans even more because a few months ago, he had claimed to be “immunized”.

Unfortunately for the Packers, this is not the first time that their player will be out with COVID. Before Rodgers, they already lost Joe Barry, Davante Adams, and Kurt Benkert. Luckily, they have a decent replacement for Rodgers. The quarterback will be replaced by 2019 first-round pick Jordan Love, who will start for the first time in his career.

NFL releases statement, says will be “Reviewing the matter with the Packers”

After news broke out that Aaron Rodgers has been unvaccinated, the quarterback’s maskless appearances throughout this season came under scrutiny. The Packers quarterback appears to have broken a lot of other NFL protocols as well. Owing to this, the NFL released a statement addressing the scandal.

The NFL said in a statement Wednesday: “The primary responsibility for enforcement of the COVID protocols within club facilities rests with each club. Failure to properly enforce the protocols has resulted in the discipline being assessed against individual clubs in the past. The league is aware of the current situation in Green Bay and will be reviewing the matter with the Packers.”
