Packers CEO Mark Murphy Assures Fans Of NFL Protocols Amid Growing Concerns

The Green Bay Packers are one of the most loved NFL franchises in America. Fans love to flock to Lambeau Field on game weekends to see their favorite stars Aaron Rodgers, Javantes Adams, and others play. This year, another new star will arrive in Wisconsin in the form of young quarterback – Jordan Love.
Green Bay Packers CEO and President – Mark Murphy – does a monthly Q&A session with the Packers faithful with the title, Murphy Takes Five. This week Murphy spoke about the whole COVID-19 situation surrounding the upcoming NFL season and the protocols in place by league officials.

Players will be tested daily, assures Packers CEO – Mark Murphy
“The league’s testing protocol is the most comprehensive of all the testing programs in professional sports. Players will be required to test negative three times in a four-day period before being allowed to enter the facility.”
“Once they are in the facility, players will be tested daily for two weeks. If the team’s positive rate is less than 5% after two weeks, the testing will drop down to every other day. If a player tests positive, he will immediately be removed from the facility to focus on treatment and minimize the risk of the virus spreading to other players,” Murphy said in his monthly Q&A interaction with fans.

“With the medical protocols that we have put in place for the season, we feel very good about keeping the players safe when they are in our facility.”
“The weak link will be when players (and coaches and staff who interact with players) go home. The players and others will have to act responsibly when they are away from the facility, or we run the risk of an outbreak,” Murphy added.
The NFL is trying to create an NBA-like virtual bubble. They want to constantly keep testing their players in order to avoid complications in the latter half of the season.
