It seems the Green Bay Packers are already in stride with the future by investing in technology. Pro-football is on the path to modernization, and science will aid its needs. The Packers have just bought a new quarterback in the form of a robot that can throw balls at a blazing speed like any other signal-caller in the league. It’s more like a JUGS machine on Steroids.

This machine was developed in 2020 to help the wide receivers and tight ends practice by maintaining social distances during the global pandemic. Well, the Packers became the first team to utilize this machine in their practice sessions. It has a wide range of applications and is an upgraded version of the JUGS machine. It is officially called Seeker, which can throw 500 balls per hour at a speed of 75mph.

This technology can replace quarterbacks or other players to sling the ball deep down the field in practice. Moreover, it can replicate any quarterback like Kirk Cousins, Tom Brady, or Aaron Rodgers and throw the ball, mimicking their speed and motion.
Not to mention, this will help the players hone their skills at different levels without seeking help from external coaches. This technology was developed by a company called Monarc. Although it was invented two years ago, the use of JUGS has been in practice for a long time.

It was in the mid-1970s when the JUGS machine started showing up on the field. Four years down the line, with drastic evolution in technology and science, more advanced machines were manufactured. Per reports, more than 25,000 machines have been shipped out of the JUGS Sports factory in Tualatin, Oregon.

Aaron Rodgers speaks up about his intentions to play for the Green Bay Packers
The 38-year-old quarterback has spent 17 seasons with the Packers since his inception in 2015. He very well knows that his time is near, and only a few seasons are left in his career. Speaking of his intentions for the upcoming campaign, Rodgers mentioned that he has nothing left to worry about. What he has achieved so far remains immaterial, and his entire focus is on the upcoming years.

“It’s more the mindset of the last couple of years of trying to live with a little more gratitude and perspective as an older player that the years are coming to an end. And the end is near. Who knows how many years that is? But it’s closer every single year.” He said. “So I’m living my life with a little more perspective about how special the journey has been and less about what you don’t have, what you couldn’t accomplish, what could’ve been,” Rodgers added to his explanation.

It will be interesting to see how much he benefits from this technology in the upcoming games.
