Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons has played in some of the biggest stadiums in the world, rushing some of the biggest quarterbacks, and more often than not, coming out with a sack. There is little doubt about his skills on the field but when it comes to enjoying the sport, he seems to have a different choice. Recently, he admitted that the NFL is second to one particular sport when it comes to stadium energy.
Soccer, in Europe and many other parts of the world, is more than just a sport. To some, it’s ‘the beautiful game’, and to countless others, ‘a religion’. And Micah thinks it’s impossible to match the energy of the soccer stadiums, especially outside America.

The NFL already hosts some of their regular season games in international venues. And this year, England’s Wembley Stadium and Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena are two such soccer stadiums that opened their doors to the NFL. Legendary quarterback Tom Brady mentioned after his game against the Seattle Seahawks, exactly just how electrifying the Munich crowd was.

The soccer craze in the States is actively trending upward with the ongoing Major League Soccer. Micah’s tweet came right after last night’s much-awaited Spanish La Liga El Clásico game. The El Clásico is the clash between two of soccer’s biggest giants; FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. The rivalry extends to even basketball and the EuroLeague today. However, it all started with the clash on the soccer pitch.
Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou Stadium hosted more than 95,000 fans last night for this season’s title-deciding Clásico. And the home team didn’t disappoint, winning 2-1 in the dying minutes from a Franck Kessié goal. With Barca extending their lead at the top of the table to 12 points ahead of their fiercest rivals, the stadium atmosphere was absolutely breathtaking. Parsons surely felt it.
