Tom Brady gives a taste of his greatness on the field even at 45. Only last Sunday, Brady engineered a comeback drive to beat their divisional rivals, the New Orleans Saints 17-16. However, the players around the QB aren’t the only ones to witness the competitiveness of the GOAT. Hollywood actor and Jennifer Lopez’s partner Ben Affleck once got a firsthand lesson from Brady.
During Brady’s time with New England Patriots and while he was still married to Gisele Bündchen, the seven-time Super Bowl champion once called up the then Batman, Ben Affleck to help him with some catch and throw drills. As a Patriots fan, Ben Affleck recounted one of his life’s most thrilling moments on the Bill Simmons podcast when he caught some 35-yard passes from TB12.

Tom Brady Goes Down the Memory Lane of a Bygone Era That Never Comes Back: “I Always Consider Myself…”
“He calls me up and says ‘Yeah [Giselle’s] not a great receiver ya know, she’s kind of gotten tired of catching balls for me. So, you want to catch some balls for me?'” The actor recalled. Affleck didn’t expect things to go down in such a memorable fashion. Especially because Brady and he don’t have anything in common besides being celebrities from the New England area. And how the QB was suddenly throwing him passes like it was the Super Bowl was beyond Affleck’s ‘wildest imagination.’

Tom Brady and Ben Affleck first met at the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2002 after Brady’s first Super Bowl ring in Foxborough. And Affleck had dubbed him the “king of Boston”. After that first championship, Tom Brady went on to add six more to his resume. He won 6 with the New England Patriots and won his last ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, putting Ben Affleck is in some major conflict between supporting his Patriots and his favorite QB.
Ben Affleck was speechless when Tom Brady showed his competitive side in a friendly catch session. The five-time Super Bowl MVP drew up actual game scenarios for Batman to assist him in. TB12 threw like it was the 4th down with a minute left at the Super Bowl and the actor had to show up on-field. “Even just listening to him. I thought we were in the Super Bowl and thought, ‘I’ll do anything to catch this ball,’” Affleck said.

WATCH THIS STORY: Tom Brady’s go-to guy has recorded an amazing achievement after dramatic return
“He doesn’t have that part of the brain where he gets nervous,” Ben said about Tampa Tom. Brady handled the little hiccups in the key moments of the game when things can go either way depending on your composure. One example that comes to mind? Russell Wilson getting nervy in the ending play of the Super Bowl XLIX and throwing an interception from 1-yard to Brady’s Patriots. After TB12’s divorce, Affleck could probably expect another catch session with the 15x Pro Bowler soon.
