Taking to Twitter, the correspondent announced that Deebo Samuel requested the team to trade him, and he doesn’t want to indulge in any negotiations. On his recent appearance at the Mad Dog Sports Radio with Adam Schein, Jimmy Garoppolo vented his thoughts on the recent developments.

“However this whole thing works out for him, he deserves his money, he’s going to get it, one way or the other, I just wish the best for him. He’s all-time, and I just appreciate him as a friend.” Garoppolo said in the interview.

Garoppolo also mentioned that Samuel is one of his best friends and appreciates the way Samuel works in the field. “I don’t know exactly what’s going on behind the scenes, what the reasons are for everything, but what they would be getting in Deebo is one of the best players that I’ve ever played with.”

“One of the best football players, one of the best guys I’ve ever played with. And I’ve been with Deebo since he was a rookie, so I’ve seen him evolve and grow. The way that he sets the tone for us, in practice, in games, in meetings, whatever, he puts his heart into it,” Garoppolo added to his statement.

A few days ago, even NFL insider Ian Rapoport speculated that money isn’t just the problem for him. Samuel plays a hybrid role within the team. More specifically, he doesn’t like “taking a lot of hits” when he’s used as a running back and wide receiver at the same time. Lately, Samuel came forward to express his thoughts, but his statements happened to be hazier than expected.

After the media started making speculations about his unprecedented decision, Samuels broke his silence on Wednesday. “Reporter’s job is to make stories only people know the truth about the situation of 49ers Tory Dandy and Deebo Samuel,” Samuel wrote on Twitter. Certainly, it will be a huge blow for the team to lose him at this point.

Deebo Samuel was initially drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2019. He inked a four-year, $7,247, 476 deal and has recorded 77 catches for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns. Samuel also ventured as a significant player in the running game, as he ran for 365 yards and completed eight touchdowns on 59 carries. It will be interesting to see how the team moves forwards with his proposal and find a new landing spot for the wide receiver.
