CB Charvarius Ward sat with broadcasters Greg Papa and Tim Ryan in KNBR via NBC Sports Bay Area. He recalled the 49ers’ sweep over the Cardinals. However, Ward had some harsh words for the Cardinals wide receiver. He opened up, saying how DeAndre Hopkins thinks of himself as a tough guy, which he is not. Not only the CB remained unhappy with Hopkins, but he also acknowledged that he had no honor for his play.

Charvarius Ward added, “He was getting locked up. He was doing some dirty things. He tried to clip me, he grabbed me by the throat. He grabbed my facemask on one play, so I don’t respect his game. That’s steroid boy.”

The ‘Steroid Boy’ reference was to DeAndre Hopkins serving a six-game suspension he received at the beginning of this season. According to reports, the star wide receiver violated the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

DeAndre Hopkins seeks answers from NFL after gnarly helmet hit

After making controversial judgments over several plays, the NFL is under fire for poor officiating this year. A similar situation arose during the Cardinals Vikings game. Kyler Murray attempted to zip a pass to Hopkins in the end zone late in the third quarter. The Vikes hit the WR in the helmet and lost possession. The play looked intense, but the officials threw no flag.

According to Fox News, Hopkins also took to Twitter, saying he wants clarification from the NFL regarding the no-call. QB Murray also presented a motion to the officials immediately after the play that he believed was a helmet-to-helmet blow. The Wr had a good game against the Vikes, but it remains in the books as a questionable one.
