The sporting world has always had some irreplaceable tandem. Whether it’s Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, or Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, these duos have been etched into the hearts of every avid NFL fan. The same is true for some of the best sports commentators ever. While the NBA world continues fawning over the legendary TNT duo, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal, the same cannot be said for the Undisputed Crew.

According to multiple reports, Shannon Sharpe is considering leaving Fox Sports for greener pastures. However, the decision came amidst reports of Sharpe being fed up with the persona that is his co-host, Skip Bayless. Bayless is well known for having outrageous takes, and Sharpe seems to have had enough, or so his social media activity leads many to believe.

The Shannon Sharpe-Skip Bayless dynamic has taken a turn that was not anticipated by most. The past few months saw the two hosts take multiple jabs at each other, some even crossing the lines of professionalism. Whether it was Bayless implying that Sharpe’s criticism of Tom Brady was fueled by envy or the two disagreeing over hot takes, their differences seem irreconcilable.

Amidst all the chaos surrounding Sharpe wanting out of Fox Sports, many believe Skip Bayless to be the primary reason. Bayless has never been a fan favorite and is often subjected to hate messages. Joining the rally, recently Shannon Sharpe just so happened to approve some of these hateful jokes about Skip Bayless.

Sharpe recently liked a Twitter post comparing Bayless to ‘weird Al’, but that wasn’t the worst as Sharpe also approved a tweet calling his co-host Skip Bayless a “piece of sh*t” right after wrapping up a show together. With Sharpe wanting out of Fox Sports, the NBA Finals will be the final chapter of his ‘Undisputed’ journey. And as multiple reports allude to tensions flaring between the two, seems like there are no chances for a reconciliation.

Friends turned enemies?

Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe’s relationship has turned bitter. And even though many would speculate that Bayless and his insults might have eventually been the tipping of the scales, there is one moment that can be pinpointed for the disagreements. Just last season, Damar Hamlin underwent a heartbreaking injury during a Week 17 game against the Bengals. The incident shook the entire NFL community as many took to prayers for Hamlin and his family. However, Skip Bayless had some rather harsh comments.

No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game — but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.” expressed Bayless on Twitter.

The Tweet didn’t sit right with Shannon Sharpe, who refused to show up to work the next day, and eventually asked Bayless to take down the post. However, Skip Bayless isn’t one to fold and stood by his opinion. The two then got into a heated discussion on whether the FS1 bosses wanted Bayless to offer an explanation for the tweet, even exchanging words along the way. Since this incident, the air around Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe has taken a rather ugly turn and is going to end with Sharpe departing for greener pastures.
