“He played his ass off today” – Darius Slay on Seahawks DK Metcalf post game on Monday night.

Darius Slay, the cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles, blamed himself for the loss against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday. The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Eagles with a score of 23-17.  Slay believed if he could have put in a little more effort against DK Metcalf, the Eagles could have won. Metcalf had 10 catches for 177 yards. Metcalf caught a 52-yard throw from their quarterback, Russell Wilson, which led to Seattle’s first touchdown. He helped the Seahawks score, which got them the upper-hand over the Eagles. The Eagles had lost and Slay felt it was on him.

It was a great battle, I won’t say it was difficult, it’s just that I lost every 50-50 ball today. I’m usually on the other side of that. Today, I’m on the other side of it. I let the team down, I told the defense, that game was on me. I got to play better, but props to DK for giving me the good work. We competing every play, but yeah, I lost every 50-50 ball. I got to be better.” said Eagles’ cornerback Darius Slay.

DK Metcalf has another outstanding day at the office

Metcalf was like a rock on Monday, he was just unstoppable. Slay couldn’t stop any of Metcalf’s catches. Metcalf caught a 31-yard pass from Wilson in the fourth quarter. Wilson and Slay teamed up really well. They were an unstoppable force. Wilson well protected by the Seahawks O-line, delivered a perfect throw and Metcalf responded to it with a brilliant catch. Slay honestly had absolutely no chance against these two on Monday night.

Even though the Eagles lost, Slay as a true sportsperson praised his opponent. He very well knew he was partly to blame for the loss. He put in his effort, but the Seahawks were just unplayable. But Slay believes this was his worst performance to date,

“He did everything good as a receiver, so I say this was by far my worst game I ever played in the league.” He further praised Metcalf by saying that “He played his ass off today.

On Monday night, Metcalf got the best of Slay and defeated the Eagles with a lead that was just way too much to cover for them.
