Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes will take on Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. The first time they went head-to-head this season, the Chiefs emerged victorious against the Chargers 27-24.

While Herbert may not be having the best of seasons, Mahomes believes that the quarterback is an exceptional talent. During a press conference, Mahomes was asked about the 24-year-old quarterback.

Patrick Mahomes thinks Herbert is special
The Chiefs quarterback had nothing but positive sentiments to share. He said, “He throws some passes that I don’t think anyone can throw in this league and that includes myself. He has a cannon for an arm, you watch — I watch on film every week because we play similar opponents — there’s [sic] some throws that you just kind of shake your head because they are just that special.”

Mahomes added that he understands he’ll [Mahomes] be taking on a challenge when the Chiefs face off against the Chargers. He believes that the Chiefs must focus on matching the Chargers’ intensity and talent in order to win.

Fans were divided over Mahomes’ statements. Most did not understand where the quarterback’s appreciation of his rival was coming from.
Patrick Mahomes is having a stellar season. After breaking one record after another, the quarterback looks like the front-runner for this season’s Most Valuable Player Award.
The Chiefs will also look forward to making every win count even though they are in the top spots of both their division and conference. Their focus will remain on their prize, which is, another Super Bowl title.
