DeAndre Hopkins has signed a two-year contract with the Tennessee Titans worth $26 million. But is this a major coup for the Titans or a major setback for the Patriots? American sports commentator, Rich Eisen, has reacted to DeAndre’s move.

He said, “DeAndre wanted to go to a team with a stable quarterback or a stable coaching staff and he wanted to go to a team with a championship defense and he chose the Titans. ”

He further added, “What happened to New England? Why didn’t he go there? Did New England not pny up for him? Did he not really consider him? Were the Patriots just something to go ahead and create a market?”

Eisen’s comments were scathing as he criticized The Patriots’ current offense, suggesting they missed a golden opportunity to strike a more aggressive deal, especially considering their uncertain quarterback situation. He further raised concerns about how the team will contend in the competitive AFC East without a star receiver.

However, it’s worth considering that perhaps Hopkins had his own reservations about playing in New England, which could have influenced his decision. Alternatively, his demand for a substantial contract might have played a significant role in the outcome.

Regardless of the reasons behind the missed opportunity, Eisen firmly emphasizes that if the Patriots aim to be genuine contenders in the AFC East for the 2023 season, they must elevate their game and make strategic moves. Competition will be fierce, and they can’t afford to fall short in any aspect.
