Baker Mayfield had a terrible season last year. He wasn’t 100% healthy, yet he was determined to play. As a result, he had many bad performances, and rumors about his exit from the Browns began brewing.

The Cleveland Browns decided to bring in Deshaun Watson. It signaled the end of Mayfield’s time in Cleveland, Ohio. The former No. 1 overall pick had great moments with the Browns, but his departure wasn’t like what he had hoped for.

Recently, Baker Mayfield was traded to the Carolina Panthers. He now has a chance to redeem himself with the people around him who trust him. The general manager of the Panthers recently spoke about Mayfield. He believed that the former Browns QB1 was more injured last season than anyone knew about.

The general manager of the Panthers talking about Mayfield’s injury struggles last season said, “It wasn’t just the shoulder injury. He also had a foot injury, a rib injury. He was really banged up last season. I think Baker’s really confident and comfortable. . . . I think we get the best version of him going forward.”

Baker Mayfield has changed his throwing motion

After having surgery in the offseason, Baker Mayfield claims he has changed his throwing motion. He believes this new motion will help him stay healthy. Mayfield claimed his previous throwing motion was “violent.”

Talking about his new throwing motion, Mayfield said, “I haven’t thrown the ball this well in a long while. My motion is a little different.” The Carolina Panthers fans would be very happy after listening to what Mayfield said.

The former Cleveland Browns quarterback has a tough road ahead of him. He needs to earn the starting quarterback position for the Panthers. He has tough competition around him. Sam Darnold and rookie quarterback Matt Corral will also be in the hunt for that position. As a result, Mayfield will be required to figure things out quickly, as the new NFL season isn’t far away.
