When Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017, little did anyone know that he would go on to be an MVP, Super Bowl MVP, and Super Bowl winner, all by the age of 25.

Drafted as the 10th overall pick, Mahomes has exceeded expectations as he continues to torch opposition defences with his improvisation skills and pinpoint throwing accuracy.

But not everyone was so sure about the quarterback’s abilities back when he was drafted. In fact, his teammate and All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill had little hope about the quarterback actually succeeding.

“I thought he was trash… I ain’t gonna cap,” said Hill. But boy did Patrick Mahomes go on to prove them wrong. In just his first full season with the franchise, the gunslinger put up a whopping 5,097 passing yards and 50 touchdowns to win the 2018 NFL MVP award.

And in the very next season, a Super Bowl followed. The franchise’s first in 50 years! Now a bonafide NFL superstar, big things are expected from Patrick Mahomes in the years to come.
