On Sunday night, Levi’s Stadium saw a dominant display from their home team, as the San Francisco 49ers destroyed Tom Brady and the Bucs. After the game, Brady looked distraught as he talked about the team’s performance. He was repeating words in the middle of the interview, trying to describe the performance against the Niners and throughout the season.

Notably, fans were already excited to see the match-up between Brady and the rookie Niners’ quarterback, Brock Purdy. Safe to say, Purdy, got the better of the 45-year-old Bucs QB at their very first meeting.

At the press conference, a reporter asked Brady about the connection not being there between him and WR Mike Evans. In reply, Brady talked about making a terrible throw to Evans. Then the reporter talked about Brady making a good throw at him.

Although Brady had a smile on his face while answering that question, he looked dejected during the whole press conference. Moreover, it was sort of a homecoming game for Brady after all these years, which did not go according to his plan.

Brady’s homecoming spoiled by Brock Purdy

Before the game, there was a big build-up regarding the match-up between Brady and Purdy; however, it did not live up to the expectation of the fans. The 22-year-old Niners QB outshined or outperformed the 7-time Super Bowl champion in every department.

In that game, Purdy had 2 passing touchdowns after throwing 185 yards. Apart from that, he also had a rushing touchdown. Whereas Brady had only 1 touchdown in the game after throwing 253 yards; however, he made 2 costly interceptions as well.

Notably, Purdy got an opportunity against the Dolphins last week after Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a foot injury. In a few minutes, the rookie showed tremendous potential. As the Niners are facing a QB crisis at the moment, Purdy got his first start of the season against the Bucs. The 7th-round draft pick showed the Niners that he indeed can carry their hopes into the playoffs.

On the other hand, Brady and Bucs are still hanging around in first place in the NFC South division despite having a losing record. They will play against the Bengals next Sunday, which is a must-win game for them, as are the remaining games.
