The Packers season has been anything but short of drama. But their dramatic season might perhaps only be topped by the centre of the team, Aaron Rodgers himself. After a dramatic loss in a 4th quarter brawl vs the Lions, which ended the Packers season, Rodgers’ words were loud and clear. “I’m gonna hold onto this one,” an emotional Rodgers told Lions WR Jameson Williams when he was asked for a jersey swap.

The entire NFL world has been sent into delirium after hearing Rodgers hint at his retirement. Fans across the internet have been speculating if this was the last time Rodgers would step onto the fields of Lambeau.

A career player at Green Bay, and with a fanbase comparable to very few, Rodgers’ cryptic comments have fueled his new retirement rumours.

The Green Bay QB has always had his way with cryptic messages, but last night’s message was clear in many ways. His body language, as many fans noticed, was indicative of a man soaking it all in, one last time.

Some Packers fan also noted that it might be time for the franchise to start a rebuild after years of dwindling success.

Rodgers and a legacy beyond any other

A legend at Green Bay, a legend in the NFL, and legend of football itself. Aaron Rodgers has a legacy greater than almost anyone else in the history of the sport. For years, the only QB to challenge Tom Brady for a shot at being the GOAT was Aaron Rodgers.

His reputation has always preceded him, his trophy cabinet, even more so. But with only 1 Super Bowl ring across a career spanning 18 years, the illustrious Lombardi Trophy has always been elusive for the star-studded QB.

Many have speculated over the last few years, after consecutive playoff failures, if Rodgers will hang up his cleats. Year after year, Rodgers has come back and looked like the legendary QB that he is to prove everyone wrong.

But how long can he keep this up? A question that has been asked of him all year, and with his final hint, he might perhaps have answered it.
