Over the offseason, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tied down quarterback Tom Brady to a two-year contract extension. This will se Brady remaining the Buccaneers’ QB1 till at least the 2022 NFL season.
While Brady’s heroics guided the the Bucs to their first Super Bowl in over a decade, the franchise knows that they have to start preparing for life after Tom Brady.
With the quarterback set to be 45 during the second year of his current contract, 2022 might well be Brady’s last season in the NFL. But the Buccaneers already seem to have the found themselves his replacement.

With the 64th overall pick in 2021 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted quarterback Kyle Trask. The young QB had a phenomenal run with the Florida Gators in 2020 with over 4,000 passing yards and 43 touchdowns to his name.

Speaking to the media, Tom Brady was asked about his opinion of Trask. And the winningest player in NFL history had a glowing recommendation for the young QB.

“Kyle’s doing a great job,” Brady said. “From the day that he got here he’s a very hard-worker. Clyde [Christensen] works extremely hard with him to get him ready to go. Kyle’s out here early, stays late, works with the younger guys. All the things that you’re really looking for in a young player.”

Talking from his own experience, Brady highlighted all the things the young QB must do to excel in the NFL.

“Every year you’re going to improve,” Brady said. “You’ve got to be able to retain a lot of information and you’ve got to be able to improve the weaknesses in your game as well as maintain the strengths in your game. But it’s just constant development and it’s really up to each individual, not only Kyle but I’d say a lot of young players,” he added.
Filling Brady’s shoes will be no easy feat. But getting watch and practice along with perhaps the greatest QB ever will definitely do a world of good for Trask once he needs to step up.
