“He’s a Champ, and She’s a Warrior. So, Champ Curtis Jefferson”: Van Jefferson Reveals a Befitting Name for His Baby Boy

Since the Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl LVI championship, it was a moment of celebration for all Rams players. However, wideout, Van Jefferson, enjoyed a double celebration after his team’s victory. Minutes before the Super Bowl game ended, Jefferson’s wife gave birth to a baby boy. And finally, following days of deliberation, the couple has finally settled on a name for the Super Bowl baby.

Van Jefferson revealed the name of his baby on “The Adam Schefter Podcast”. He said, “Champ…… I think it’s very fitting to name him Champ.” Jefferson added, “We looked it up and Champ is like a warrior and my wife is a warrior……. He’s a champ, and she’s a warrior. So, Champ Curtis Jefferson.”

While Samaria, Jefferson’s wife, was aware that the baby’s arrival was near, she went to support her husband in his most important game. Additionally, when she went into labor, she ensured Jefferson wasn’t informed before the game ended. Therefore, Samaria really did embody a warrior-like attitude during those crucial minutes, and as a result, she was rewarded with a “Champ.”

Jefferson’s wife, Samaria was experiencing contractions on the morning of the Super Bowl game. However, she wasn’t concerned since they were farther apart. Despite this, she went into labor by halftime of the LVI game. As a result, Samaria was rushed on a stretcher to a nearby hospital where she gave birth to a baby boy.

As soon as the game ended, Jefferson was informed about the birth. Consequently, he skipped the team’s post-win celebration to be with his wife and meet his newborn. The couple already has a five-year-old daughter, Bella, who now has a new companion in his baby brother.

Champ’s birth came at a time that proved to be the cherry on top. A picture holding went viral on social media with Jefferson holding his baby in his arms. Taking place in LA LA Land, the event was indeed worthy of a Hollywood movie.
