In the last two months, Aaron Rodgers and David Bakhtiari’s relationship has gone from friend cum teammates to soon-to-be-former colleagues with a lot of indifference in the middle. At least that’s what Bakhtiari expressed about the entire A-Rod to Jets saga during his latest ‘Bussin With The Boys’ podcast appearance. The Green Bay Packers O-lineman certainly doesn’t want to answer any more questions about his QB.

David Bakhtiari can’t take another Aaron Rodgers question

Ever since getting drafted as the 109th pick in the 2013 NFL draft, David Bakhtiari has remained a loyal Packer. Aaron Rodgers came out and announced his intention to play for the New York Jets last month. However, after 26 days, the parties seem to have made no progress, currently negotiating the compensation package for A-Rod.

Bakhtiari was one of A-Rod’s glue guys

If the Jets deal falls through, is Aaron Rodgers likely to start for the Wisconsin-based franchise next season? Well, Bakhtiari thinks not. “I think that has probably been put to rest. I think they gave the keys to Jordan [Love],” he added.

Aaron Rodgers put his conditions on the table for Green Bay in the off-season. And it included extensions for certain key players. Players who were influential both on the field and in the locker room. And Bakhtiari was one of the glue guys. However, while Green Bay restructured David and kept him on the roster, it wasn’t to protect Rodgers, but Jordan Love.

A-Rod didn’t want to be a part of a franchise rebuild right from the time their season ended on a losing 8-9 record. However, that’s just what GM Brian Gutekunst had in mind. And the first move in that direction had to be the quarterback role. After the Ravens snatched OBJ, will A-Rod become the second big free agency target that the Jets end up losing this year? Or will he end up wearing Namath’s 12 in September?
