To cap off a phenomenal 2020 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won themselves the Super Bowl LV trophy in stunning fashion. Led by quarterback Tom Brady, the franchise steamrolled the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9 in the NFL’s showcase event.

Brady, a Patriots player before his move to Tampa, had already won 6 Super Bowls. Adding #7 with a new franchise will surely go down as a career highlight.

Since the Super Bowl victory, Brady’s teammates have been particularly vocal about the QB’s contribution to their success. As a veteran, no one knows better about winning than Tom Brady.

And according to teammate Shaq Barrett, it’s that winning mentality that helped the team go all the way in 2020.

No leader quite like Tom Brady

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently tied down a lot of their key players ahead of the new season. Among them was Bucs linebacker Shaq Barrett.

According to reports, Barrett signed a 4-year contract worth up to $72 million, with $36 million in guaranteed money. A clear signal of intent from the franchise. Locking in Barrett will help them run it back in the upcoming season.

While appearing on KJZ, the linebacker talked about Tom Brady and his influence on the locker room. And just how important it was to their odds of winning the Super Bowl.

“It was amazing to have TB… he’s a terrific leader on the field and off the field. Just engaging with everybody and just like normal day-to-day conversation.

“It was just so good to have that type of leadership. Guys was actually starting to buy in and he just makes everything easier for everybody else because he has been a multi-time champion,” said Barrett.

Further commenting on Brady’s leadership skills and that of Head Coach Bruce Arians, Barrett said they paved the way for everyone to follow.

“He knows what it takes. He knows what needs to be done. We just followed his lead, and we did a great job. BA did a great job coaching. So it’s like from the top down. It’s just been like great leadership and we are just buying into it,” he added.
