The National Football League and its fans are reeling from another terrible loss following the suspicious death of Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jaylon Ferguson. It was a shell-shocking announcement from the team regarding their late player on Wednesday. It led to an outpouring of condolence messages to his family from coaches, players, and fans on social media.

The Baltimore Police found the player after responding to a home in the city’s northern district. After entering the house, the officers found Ferguson unresponsive and in need of medical attention. However, he never found consciousness and was pronounced dead by the medical personnel.

According to the police, there were no signs of trauma or foul play on the scene. They add it has been sent for forensic evaluation while not ruling out a case of overdosing.

While sharing his thoughts about Ferguson posthumously, current Ravens head coach John Harbaugh states, “Jaylon was a good-hearted, gentle person who loved his family and his team. He was a joy to talk with and be around every day. You always wanted to see and talk to ‘Ferg.’ Our prayers and our help go to his family. Our hearts are with his Spirit. R.I.P., Jaylon.
