Antonio Brown will go down in history as the most controversial athlete in the NFL. His outburst on the field was as much embarrassing for the Buccaneers as it was for his image. And he only went downhill from there. Brown hasn’t played professional football in 18 months after the said temper tantrum on the field while playing against the Jets. He has been all over the news lately, trying to stay relevant and possibly looking to make a comeback to the NFL. But is it that easy after all his shenanigans?

Brown left a huge dent before being let go of the Bucs. Instead of being responsible for his mistakes and making amends, he accused his team of foul play. And after 18 months of the said incident, he still can not seem to get out of controversies.

Antonio Brown is now an owner

The former NFL wide receiver recently bought a majority stake in the National Arena League’s Albany Empire and was expected to make a return as a receiver on the team. His agent even confirmed his comeback last Saturday. Despite making numerous promises, he is not able to fulfill them. It comes to no one as a surprise when Brown comes into the news in a negative way. Recently, it was reported that his team is unable to pay for players and coaches, and yet he claims to pay $150000 to Cam Newton for just one game on June 17.

Last Saturday, 4500 fans bought tickets to watch Antonio play, but yet again he disappointed everyone and stood on the sidelines as an owner instead of playing as he announced. It has been reported that his physical wasn’t deemed clear before the game, so he was unable to play. But several media reports indicate that, as he is the owner of the team, a mere physical couldn’t stop him if he wanted to compete.

After Brown’s absence, the Albany Empires now have a 5-day losing streak after Saturday’s defeat against the Fayetteville Mustangs. There are thousands of speculations about the issue on the internet, but it is also reported that Brown is set to make a return in the next game.

Is Brown actually making a comeback to the NFL?

Several media outlets claim that Brown wanted up the ticket sale of an Empire’s match from 2500 to 10000, hence his comeback in the league. It has already seen a surpass in ticket sales by 2000 last Saturday, so he was not so wrong. And about his return to the NFL, he recently posted a picture of him wearing a Ravens’ Jersey on Twitter.

Brown’s agents claimed that he has received several offers from NFL teams to get recruited for this season. They added that Brown is seemingly looking for a perfect fit. Experts claim that the agents are overplaying the situation so that they can present him better to coveted suitors. So for now, it’s safe to say that his comeback to the NFL is highly unlikely. But Brown will not simply stop making headlines in the near future, so we are yet to see what he has on the table for us.
